(ST. LOUIS, MO) December 13, 2022 – The Commercial Receivers Association (CRA) continues to expand its presence and reach with the appointment of Ian Rubenstrunk as the State Director of the North Star State.  The mission of the CRA is to focus on the Education and Standardization of Commercial Receivership Administration.  As such, the CRA was keen to expand into Minnesota where the bar is set high for receivership work thanks to the 2012 legislature that revised the statutes to consolidate the law into one chapter and provide a clear, uniform structure for receivership proceedings within the state.

“Ian Rubenstrunk brings a unique skillset to the role of State Director, having spent five years as a US Bankruptcy Court Clerk and five years as an attorney for Winthrop & Weinstine.  Ian has recently moved into a role for Alliance Management as a Turnaround Consultant, where he’ll operate as a Commercial Receiver,” said Sonette Magnus, Vice President of the CRA.  “His experience in the court system as an attorney and now as a receiver, was incredibly unique and is seen as a true value to the State Director role.”

By enlisting Ian Rubenstrunk to join the CRA leadership team, the association and its members will undoubtedly benefit from his experience working in the distressed and turnaround industry in a state that is seen as a leader for the receivership community.  Mr. Rubenstrunk’s role within the association will be to continue to deliver on CRA’s mission to empower attorneys, receivers, bankers and professional service firms in the commercial receiver space by providing important education, networking and practical resources.

“I am humbled and honored to be selected as the State Director for the Minnesota Chapter of the Commercial Receivership Association,” said Ian Rubenstrunk.  “As State Director, I look forward to working with my esteemed colleagues to build upon the excellent foundation we have in Minnesota, while also finding opportunities for growth in the receivership space. I am very excited about what the Minnesota Chapter can accomplish as we grow the chapter and work towards fulfilling the goals of the CRA.”

As one of the newest state directors for the CRA, he offers additional depth to an already strong leadership team.  The CRA has recently welcomed Adam Nach as the new Arizona State Director and Emily Cantwell and John Cruciani as new Board Members of the CRA. In addition, CRA is planning its first in-person conference for August 2023 at Saint Louis Union Station in Saint Louis, MO after the success of the inaugural virtual conference in 2022.

CRA co-founders, Sonette Magnus, Partner at Thompson Coburn, Eric Moraczewski, CEO of NMBL Strategies and Eric Peterson, Partner at Spencer Fane, remain committed to building a network of connected, informed and most importantly well-qualified members that will elevate the level of commercial receiverships across the country.
